     Major Edward Heathcote Smith was born on 18 May 1813. He was the son of Sir John Wyldbore Smith, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Anne Marriott. He married Christina Machintosh, daughter of William Machintosh, on 29 January 1839. He died on 26 November 1870 at age 57.

     Christina Machintosh was the daughter of William Machintosh. She married Major Edward Heathcote Smith, son of Sir John Wyldbore Smith, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Anne Marriott, on 29 January 1839. She died in 1894.
     Her married name became Smith.

     Anne Eliza Smith was born on 11 May 1803. She was the daughter of Sir John Wyldbore Smith, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Anne Marriott. She married Reverend John Digby Wingfield on 20 April 1826. She died on 22 July 1859 at age 56.
     Her married name became Wingfield.

     James Armar Butler was the son of Lt.-Gen. Hon. Henry Edward Butler and Jane Gowan.2 He was born in 1827.1 He died on 22 July 1854.1
     James Armar Butler fought in the Crimean War.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3

     Edward John Butler was born in July 1842.1 He was the son of Lt.-Gen. Hon. Henry Edward Butler and Frances Mauleverer Toulson.2 He married Elizabeth Turner Clark, daughter of G. E. S. Clark, on 27 March 1879.1 He died on 11 October 1920 at age 78.1
     Edward John Butler gained the rank of Captain in the service of the 21st Fusiliers.1
