     Harriet Maitland was the daughter of General Frederick Maitland and Catherine Prettyjohn.2 She married Donald Maclean, son of Sir Fitzroy Jeffreys Grafton Maclean, 8th Bt. and Elizabeth Kidd, on 7 September 1827.2 She died on 20 September 1850.1
     From 7 September 1827, her married name became Maclean.

     Sir Alexander Charles Ramsay-Gibson-Maitland, 3rd Bt. was born on 7 January 1820.1 He was the son of Alexander Maitland and Susan Ramsay.2 He married Thomasina Agnes Hunt, daughter of James Hunt, on 3 February 1841.1 He died on 16 May 1876 at age 56, with three daughters (d unm):.1
     He was given the name of Alexander Charles Maitland at birth.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Edinburgh.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Stirlingshire Militia.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Maitland, of Clifton, Midlothian [U.K., 1818] on 7 February 1848.1 In 1856 his name was legally changed to Alexander Charles Ramsay-Gibson-Maitland on inheriting Barnton and Sauchie.1
