     Æneas Macdonell was born circa 1758.2 He was the son of Ranald Macdonell, 5th of Scotus and Helen Grant.3 He married Anna Fraser, daughter of William Fraser of Culbockie, on 11 November 1788.1,2 He died on 9 December 1792.1
     He was commissioned in 1777, in the service of the 76th (Macdonald) Regiment and served in America.1

Æneas Ranald Macdonell, 19th of Glengarry and 6th of Scotus1

     Æneas Ranald Macdonell, 19th of Glengarry and 6th of Scotus was born on 19 December 1789.2 He was the son of Æneas Macdonell and Anna Fraser.3 He married Juliana Charlotte Wade, daughter of Archdeacon unknown Wade, in 1819.3 He died on 24 October 1868 at age 78 at Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, England.3
     He was educated at Marischal College, Aberdeen, Aberdeenshire, Scotland.3 In 1803 Scotus was sold by his trustees to Grant of Glenmoriston, from whom it was purchased by 15th Chief of Glengarry.3 He was 1st member of the Review Board, Madras Civil Service.3 He succeeded to the title of 9th Lord Macdonell [Jacobite, 1716] on 28 June 1868.3
