     Mary Ann Atkinson was baptised on 14 November 1785 at All Saints, Newcastle upon Tyne, Northumberland, England.2 She was the daughter of James Atkinson.1 She married, firstly, Colonel Charles Philip Ainslie, son of Colonel Sir Philip Ainslie of Pilton and Hon. Elizabeth Gray, on 12 May 1805 at Parish Church of St. Andrews, Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England.1 She married, secondly, General Sir Thomas Bradford on 1 June 1818 at Fulham, London, England.1 She died on 14 February 1830 at age 44 at Cape of Good Hope, Cape Province, South Africa.1
     From 12 May 1805, her married name became Ainslie.1 From 1 June 1818, her married name became Bradford.1
