     Admiral Swynfen Thomas Carnegie was born on 8 March 1813. He was the son of Admiral William Carnegie, 7th Earl of Northesk and Mary Ricketts. He married Louisa Albertina Hope, daughter of Adrian J. Hope, on 29 September 1858. He and Louisa Albertina Hope were divorced in 1872. He died on 20 November 1879 at age 66.

     Louisa Albertina Hope is the daughter of Adrian J. Hope. She married Admiral Swynfen Thomas Carnegie, son of Admiral William Carnegie, 7th Earl of Northesk and Mary Ricketts, on 29 September 1858. She and Admiral Swynfen Thomas Carnegie were divorced in 1872.
     Her married name became Carnegie.

     Lady Mary Carnegie was born in 1789 at Winchester, Hampshire, England.1 She was the daughter of Admiral William Carnegie, 7th Earl of Northesk and Mary Ricketts. She was baptised at St. Thomas Church, Winchester, Hampshire, England.1 She married Walter Long, son of John Long and Ellen Hippesley Trenchard, on 12 February 1810 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England.1 She died on 7 March 1875 at Hampshire, England.1
     From 12 February 1810, her married name became Long.1

     Walter Long was born on 24 November 1788 at Hampshire, England.2 He was the son of John Long and Ellen Hippesley Trenchard.2 He married Lady Mary Carnegie, daughter of Admiral William Carnegie, 7th Earl of Northesk and Mary Ricketts, on 12 February 1810 at St. George's Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England.2 He died on 5 January 1871 at age 82.2 He was buried at Upham, Hampshire, England.2
     In 1797 hr inherited the estate of Preshaw from his father.2 He graduated from Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1809 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).2 He graduated from Oriel College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, in 1812 with a Master of Arts (M.A.).2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Hampshire.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Hampshire.2 He held the office of High Sheriff of Hampshire in 1824.2 He lived at Preshaw House, Hampshire, England.1
