Edward Strachey, 1st Baron Strachie

     Edward Strachey, 1st Baron Strachie was born on 30 October 1858 at Clifton, Gloucestershire, England.1 He was the son of Sir Edward Strachey, 3rd Bt. and Mary Isabella Symonds.1 He married Constance Braham, daughter of Charles Bampfylde Braham, on 17 January 1880. He died on 25 July 1936 at age 77.
     He gained the title of 1st Baron Strachie. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Somerset South between 1892 and 1911.1 He held the office of Treasurer of the Household between 1905 and 1909.1 He was invested as a Privy Counsellor (P.C.) in 1912.1

     Constance Braham was the daughter of Charles Bampfylde Braham. She married Edward Strachey, 1st Baron Strachie, son of Sir Edward Strachey, 3rd Bt. and Mary Isabella Symonds, on 17 January 1880. She died on 22 December 1936.
      Her married name became Strachey.

     Hon. Thomas Anthony Esward Towneley Towneley-O'Hagan was born on 13 September 1917. He was the son of Maurice Herbert Townley O'Hagan, 3rd Baron O'Hagan and Hon. Frances Constance Maddalena Strachey. He married Lady Mary Sophia Palmer, daughter of Roundell Cecil Palmer, 3rd Earl of Selborne and Hon. Grace Ridley, on 11 November 1944.1 He died on 23 December 1955 at age 38.

     Lady Mary Sophia Palmer was born on 6 September 1920. She was the daughter of Roundell Cecil Palmer, 3rd Earl of Selborne and Hon. Grace Ridley. She married Hon. Thomas Anthony Esward Towneley Towneley-O'Hagan, son of Maurice Herbert Townley O'Hagan, 3rd Baron O'Hagan and Hon. Frances Constance Maddalena Strachey, on 11 November 1944.1 She married, secondly, Francis St. John Corbet Gore, son of Francis William Baldock Gore and Mary Isabel Kirsteen Corbet-Singleton, in 1981.2 She died on 17 August 2001 at age 80), Lady-in-Waiting to HRH PRINCESS ELIZABETH 1944–47 (Extra Lady-in-Waiting 1947–49), youngest dau of 3rd Earl of Selborne (qv).1
     She was Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) (see GORE.1 Her married name became Towneley-O'Hagan. From 1981, her married name became Gore.2

Captain Robin Rathmore Plunket, 8th Baron Plunket of Newton

     Captain Robin Rathmore Plunket, 8th Baron Plunket of Newton was born on 3 December 1925.1 He was the son of Terence Conyngham Plunket, 6th Baron Plunket of Newton and Dorothy Mabel Lewis. He married Jennifer Southwell, daughter of Bailey Southwell and Erica Barry, on 8 November 1951.1 He died on 16 November 2013 at age 87.2
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain between 1943 and 1947 in the service of the Rifle Brigade.1 He succeeded to the title of 8th Baron Plunket, of Newton, co. Cork [U.K., 1827] on 28 May 1975.1 He lived at Rathmore, Chimanimani, Zimbabwe.1 He lived at 39 Lansdowne Gardens, London, England.1
