     Hon. Grace Ridley was born in 1889. She was the daughter of Matthew White Ridley, 1st Viscount Ridley and Hon. Mary Georgiana Marjoribanks.1 She married Roundell Cecil Palmer, 3rd Earl of Selborne, son of William Waldegrave Palmer, 2nd Earl of Selborne and Lady Beatrix Maud Cecil, on 9 June 1910.1 She died on 22 September 1959.1
     Her married name became Palmer. After her marriage, Hon. Grace Ridley was styled as Countess of Selborne on 26 February 1942.

     Matthew White Ridley, 1st Viscount Ridley was born on 25 July 1842.1 He was the son of Sir Matthew White Ridley, 4th Bt. and Cecilia Anne Parke.1 He married Hon. Mary Georgiana Marjoribanks, daughter of Dudley Coutts Marjoribanks, 1st Baron Tweedmouth of Edington and Isabella Hogg, on 10 December 1873.3 He died on 28 November 1904 at age 62.1
     He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for North Northumberland between 1868 and 1885.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet White [G.B., 1756] on 25 September 1877.1 He held the office of Under-Secretary, Home Department between 1878 and 1880.1 He held the office of Financial Secretary, Treasury between 1885 and 1886.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Blackpool between 1886 and 1901.1 He held the office of Home Secretary between 1895 and 1900.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Northumberland.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He was created 1st Viscount Ridley [U.K.] on 19 December 1900.1 He was created 1st Baron Wensleydale, of Blagdon and Blyth, co. Northumberland [U.K.] on 19 December 1900.1

Hon. Herbrand Charles Alexander and Millicent Valla Meredyth, on 6 April 1943.2 She and Major Denis James Alexander, 6th Earl of Caledon were divorced in 1948.4 She married, secondly, Henry Edward Cubitt, 4th Baron Ashcombe, son of Roland Calvert Cubitt, 3rd Baron Ashcombe and Sonia Rosemary Keppel, on 12 September 1955.2 She and Henry Edward Cubitt, 4th Baron Ashcombe were divorced in 1968.2 She married, thirdly, Adrian Gerald Foley, 8th Baron Foley of Kidderminster, son of Gerald Henry Foley, 7th Baron Foley of Kidderminster and Minoru Greenstone, in 1972.4 She died on 25 April 2000 at SpainG.5
     From 6 April 1943, her married name became Alexander. From 12 September 1955, her married name became Cubitt. Virginia Carington, daughter of Peter Alexander Rupert Carington, 6th Baron Carrington of Upton and Iona Ellen McClean, on 1 January 1973 at Kensington Register Office, Kensington, London, EnglandG.1,3 He and Hon. Virginia Carington were divorced in 1979.1 He married, thirdly, Mary Elizabeth Chipps, daughter of Dr. Henry Davis Chipps, on 29 March 1979.1 He died on 4 December 2013 at age 89.3
