     He lived at Etal, Northumberland, England.1 In 1329 he had a grant of land in Northumberland.1 He fought in the Scots Wars before 1331.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Northumberland in 1340.1 In 1342 he negotiated a truce with the Scots.1 In 1342 he was granted a royal licence to fortify his mansion at Etal.1 He held the office of Constable of Northam Castle before 1345.1 He fought in the Battle of Neville's Cross in 1346.1
