David Andrew Balfour, 4th Baron Kinross was born on 29 March 1906.1 He was the son of Patrick Balfour, 2nd Baron Kinross and Caroline Elsie Johnstone-Douglas.1 He married, firstly, Araminta Peel, daughter of Lt.-Col. Willoughby Ewart Peel and Alice Dalrymple Hunter Blair, on 10 June 1936.1 He and Araminta Peel were divorced in 1941.1 He married, secondly, Helen Anne Hog, daughter of Alan Welwood Hog and Winifred Alice Dundas, on 17 April 1948.1 He married, thirdly, Ruth Beverly Mill, daughter of William Henry Mill, in 1972.1 He died on 20 July 1985 at age 79.1,2
     He was educated at Sherborne School, Sherborne, Dorset, EnglandG.1 He was educated at Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 He fought in the Second World War.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.)1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the Royal Artillery (TA.)1 He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Edinburgh in 1966.1 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1968.1 He succeeded as the 4th Baron Kinross, of Glasclune, co. David Andrew Balfour, 4th Baron Kinross, son of Patrick Balfour, 2nd Baron Kinross and Caroline Elsie Johnstone-Douglas, on 10 June 1936.1 She and Lt.-Col. David Andrew Balfour, 4th Baron Kinross were divorced in 1941.1 She died in 1999.2
     Her married name became Hippisley Coxe.2 Her married name became Balfour.
