     Brig.-Gen. Paul Aloysius Kenna, V.C. was born on 16 August 1862 at Liverpool, Lancashire, EnglandG.2 He was the son of James Kenna. He married, firstly, Lady Cecil Josephine Bertie, daughter of Montagu Arthur Bertie, 7th Earl of Abingdon and Caroline Theresa Towneley, on 18 July 1895.3 He married, secondly, Angela Mary Hibbert, daughter of Hubert Aloysius Tichborne Hibbert and Mary Gandolfi-Hornyold, on 2 March 1905.3 He died on 30 August 1915 at age 53 at Gallipoli, TurkeyG, from wounds received in action, from a sniper.2
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 21st Lancers.2 He fought in the Sudan Campaign.2 He was awarded the Victoria Cross (V.C.) on 15 November 1898, for his actions on 2 September 1898.1,2 He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)1 He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in the 21st (Empress of India) Lancers.1 He fought in the Gallipoli Campaign.2

     Lady Elizabeth Constance Mary Bertie was born on 12 March 1895.1 She was the daughter of Montagu Arthur Bertie, 7th Earl of Abingdon and Gwendoline Mary Dormer.1 She married, firstly, Major Sigismund William Joseph Trafford, son of Edward Southwell Trafford and Hon. Eleanor Mary Petre, on 21 April 1914.1 She married Colonel Henry Antrobus Cartwright, son of Reverend Arthur Rogers Cartwright, on 5 September 1956.1 She died in 1987.1
     Lady Elizabeth Constance Mary Bertie also went by the nick-name of Betty.1 Her married name became Trafford. She was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1938.1 She was Senior Commander in the Auxiliary Territorial Service between 1938 and 1942.1 From 5 September 1956, her married name became Cartwright.1

Eleanor Mary Petre.1 He married Lady Elizabeth Constance Mary Bertie, daughter of Montagu Arthur Bertie, 7th Earl of Abingdon and Gwendoline Mary Dormer, on 21 April 1914.1 He died on 8 September 1953 at age 70.1
     He was educated at The Oratory School, Edgbaston, Warwickshire, England.2 He gained the rank of Major in the Rifle Brigade.1 He lived at Wroxham Hall, Norfolk, EnglandG.1

     James Balfour, 1st Lord Balfour, Baron of Glenawley was the son of Sir James Balfour and Margaret Balfour.1 He married, firstly, Grisold Balfour, daughter of Patrick Balfour.1 He married, secondly, Lady Elizabeth Hay, daughter of George Hay, 7th Earl of Erroll and Helen Bruce, after 1599.1 He married, thirdly, Anne Blayney, daughter of Edward Blayney, 1st Lord Blayney, Baron of Monaghan and Anne Loftus, before 1627.1 He died on 18 October 1634 at London, EnglandG.1 His will (dated 16 October 1634) was proven (by probate) on 5 March 1634/35 at Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, and was probated again 2 June 1636.1 He died intestate and his estate was administered to pending a suit between his two sons James and Alexander on 15 May 1635.1
     On 28 March 1587 he received by charter from his parents, lands at Costertoun, Edinburgh.1 He received from King James I grants of land in Ireland.1 He was created 1st Lord Balfour, Baron of Glenawley, co. Fermanagh [Ireland] on 8 November 1619.1
     He had one other son and two other daughters by his first wife.1
