Hugh 'Du' Mackay is the son of Iye du Mackay and Christian Dun.2 He married, firstly, Elizabeth Sinclair, daughter of George Sinclair, 4th Earl of Caithness and Lady Elizabeth Graham.3 He married, secondly, Lady Jane Gordon, daughter of Alexander Gordon, 12th Earl of Sutherland and Lady Jean Gordon, in December 1589.4 He died on 11 September 1614, having by her had, with a younger son (John, of Dirlot and Strathy) and three daughters:.4
