Admiral Sir Charles Tyler was the son of Captain Peter Tyler and Hon. Anna Maria Roper. He married, secondly, Margaret Leach, daughter of Alexander Leach, on 25 November 1788. He died on 28 September 1835.

Vice-Admiral Sir George Tyler was born on 28 December 1792 at Cottrell, Glamorgan, Wales.2 He was the son of Admiral Sir Charles Tyler and Margaret Leach.2 He was baptised on 24 January 1797 at St. Mary, Pembrokeshire, Wales.2 He married Harriet Margaret Sullivan, daughter of Rt. Hon. John Sullivan and Lady Henrietta Hobart, on 21 September 1819.2 He died on 4 June 1862 at age 69 at Dunravin Castle, Glamorgan, Wales.2
Vice-Admiral Sir George Tyler was educated on 3 October 1806 at Royal Naval College, Portsmouth, Hampshire, England.2 He was commissioned on 7 December 1809, in the service of the Royal Navy.2 He gained the rank of Midshipman before May 1811 in the service of the on board H.M.S. Spartan.2 In May 1811 he lost his right arm, in a boat affair in Quiberon Bay.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant on 6 February 1813.2 He gained the rank of Commander on 7 February 1815.2 He gained the rank of Post-Captain on 10 October 1822.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral on 26 October 1852.2 He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral on 8 December 1857.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).1 He was invested as a Knight, Hanoverian Order (K.H.).1 He lived at Cottrell, Glamorgan, Wales.1
