Lucretia Jerningham was born on 10 August 1804. She was the daughter of William Charles Jerningham and Anne Wright.1 She married Edward Anthony John Preston, 13th Viscount Gormanston, son of Jenico Preston, 12th Viscount Gormanston and Hon. Margaret Southwell, on 19 July 1836.1 She died on 5 February 1891 at age 86.1
Her married name became Preston. As a result of her marriage, Lucretia Jerningham was styled as Viscountess Gormanston on 10 February 1860.

Edward Anthony John Preston, 13th Viscount Gormanston was born on 3 June 1796.1 He was the son of Jenico Preston, 12th Viscount Gormanston and Hon. Margaret Southwell.2 He married Lucretia Jerningham, daughter of William Charles Jerningham and Anne Wright, on 19 July 1836.1 He died on 28 September 1876 at age 80.1
He held the office of Sheriff of County Meath in 1831.1 He held the office of Sheriff of County Dublin in 1845.1 He succeeded to the title of 16th Lord Preston of Gormanston [I., 1370] on 10 February 1860.1 He succeeded to the title of 13th Viscount Gormanston [I., 1478] on 10 February 1860.1 He was created 1st Baron Gormanston of Whitewood, co. Meath [U.K.] on 8 December 1868.1
