     John Mordaunt, 1st Earl of Peterborough was baptised on 18 January 1598/99. He was the son of Henry Mordaunt, 4th Lord Mordaunt and Margaret Compton.2 He married Elizabeth Howard, daughter of William Howard, 3rd Baron Howard of Effingham and Ann St. John, before 7 April 1621.2
     John Mordaunt, 1st Earl of Peterborough gained the title of 1st Earl of Peterborough.

     Lt.-Col. William Erdeswick Ignatius Butler-Bowdon was born on 16 January 1880. He was the son of Lt.-Col. John Erdeswick Butler-Bowden and Hon. Monica Mary Petre. He married Gertrude Mary de Trafford, daughter of Augustus Henry de Trafford and Gertrude Mary Walmesley, on 28 September 1909.1 He died on 30 March 1956 at age 76.1
     Lt.-Col. William Erdeswick Ignatius Butler-Bowdon was decorated with the award of Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.).1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).1 He lived at Southgate House, Derbyshire, England.1
