     Sir Thomas Lucas, 1st Bt. was born on 18 July 1822.2 He was the son of James Jonathan Hughes Delight Lucas and Elizabeth Pearman.1 He married, firstly, Jane Rolfe Golder, daughter of Charles Golder, on 2 September 1845.2 He married, secondly, Mary Amelia Chamberlain, daughter of Robert Chamberlain, on 2 June 1852.2 He died on 6 March 1902 at age 79.2
     Sir Thomas Lucas, 1st Bt. held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Surrey.2 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Suffolk.2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Middlesex.2 He was decorated with the award of Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Officers' Decoration (V.D.).2 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Suffolk.2 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the Engineering and Railway Volunteer Staff Corps.2 He was created 1st Baronet Lucas, of Ashtead Park, co. Surrey [U.K.] on 25 July 1887.2

     Mary Amelia Chamberlain was the daughter of Robert Chamberlain.2 She married Sir Thomas Lucas, 1st Bt., son of James Jonathan Hughes Delight Lucas and Elizabeth Pearman, on 2 June 1852.1 She died on 7 November 1905.1
     Her married name became Lucas.
