     W/Cdr. Robert Cecil Talbot Speir was born on 8 October 1904. He was the son of Guy Thomas Speir and Mary Lucy Fletcher. He married, firstly, Elizabeth Findlay, daughter of Sir John Ritchie Findlay, 1st Bt. and Harriet Jane Backhouse, on 26 April 1932. He married, secondly, Dolce Maria Handelsman in 1961. He died on 2 January 1980 at age 75.
     W/Cdr. Robert Cecil Talbot Speir gained the rank of Wing Commander in the service of the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve.2 He gained the rank of officer in the service of the King's Own Scottish Borderers.3 He was invested as a Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.).1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).1 He lived at Linkside, Nairnshire, Scotland.1

     Elizabeth Findlay was the daughter of Sir John Ritchie Findlay, 1st Bt. and Harriet Jane Backhouse.1 She married W/Cdr. Robert Cecil Talbot Speir, son of Guy Thomas Speir and Mary Lucy Fletcher, on 26 April 1932. She died in 1958.
     Her married name became Speir.
