     Major Hon. Christopher William Lowther was born on 18 January 1887.1 He was the son of James William Lowther, 1st Viscount Ullwater and Mary Frances Beresford-Hope. He married, firstly, Ina Marjorie Gwendolin Pelly, daughter of Rev. Canon Raymond Percy Pelly and Alice Schaffalitzky Larkins, on 17 June 1910.2 He and Ina Marjorie Gwendolin Pelly were divorced in 1921.3 He married Dorothy Bromley-Davenport, daughter of Arthur Henry Bromley-Davenport, on 16 February 1921.1 He died on 7 January 1935 at age 47, having by her had:.1
     He was educated Eton and Trin College Cambridge.1 He was Honour Attaché Morocco and Mexico 1907–09, with Pearson & Sons and Griffiths & Sons to 1912, Major Westmorland and Cumberland Yeomanry WW I (wounded), Member of Parliament (M.P.) (C to Jan 1921, Ind following Horatio Bottomley from Jan 1921) Cumbe in 1907.1

James William Lowther, 1st Viscount Ullwater1

     James William Lowther, 1st Viscount Ullwater was born on 1 April 1855.2 He was the son of Hon. William Lowther and Hon. Charlotte Alice Parke.1 He married Mary Frances Beresford-Hope, daughter of Alexander James Beresford-Hope, on 1 March 1886.2 He died on 27 March 1949 at age 93.2
     He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.) (Cumberland and Suffolk).2 He was County Suffolk (UK).2 He was educated Eton, King's College London (Fell) and Trin College Cambridge (LLM).2 He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.2 He lived Campsea Ashe.2 He gained the title of 1st Viscount Ullswater. He was barrister Inner Temple (bencher 1906), Member of Parliament (M.P.) (C) Rutland 1883–85 and Mid-Cumberland (which fought unsuccessfully 1885) 1886–1921, Parly U-Sec For Affrs 1891–92, Chm Ways and Means Ctee and Dep Speaker H of C 1895–1905 (Speake in 1879.2 He was Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 18 July 1898.2 He was Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (G.C.B.) in 1921.2 On 8 July 1921 so created.2 In 1925 author: A Speaker's Commentaries.2 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3

Christopher William Lowther, son of James William Lowther, 1st Viscount Ullwater and Mary Frances Beresford-Hope, on 16 February 1921.1 She married, secondly, Captain Hugh Ellis Davies Cullen, son of William Henry Cullen, on 21 July 1936. She and Captain Hugh Ellis Davies Cullen were divorced in 1951. She married, thirdly, Charles Glennie de Rougemont, son of Commander Frank de Rougemont, on 26 January 1958. She died on 9 July 1969.1
      From 16 February 1921, her married name became Lowther. From 21 July 1936, her married name became Cullen. From 26 January 1958, her married name became de Rougemont.
