He was the son of Edward John Morton Drax Plunkett, 18th Baron of Dunsany and Beatrice Child Child-Villiers. He married, firstly, Vera de Sa Sottomajor, daughter of Dr. Genesio de Sa Sottomajor and Julieta (?), on 23 August 1938.1 He and Vera de Sa Sottomajor were divorced in 1947.1 He married, secondly, Sheila Victoria Katrin Philipps, daughter of Sir Henry Erasmus Edward Philipps, 2nd Bt., on 8 October 1947. He died circa 8 February 1999.
     Lt.-Col. Randal Arthur Henry Plunkett, 19th Baron of Dunsany gained the title of 19th Baron of Dunsany.
