     Margaret Hope was the daughter of Sir John Hope of Craighall, 2nd Bt. and Margaret Murray.1,2 She married Sir Robert Pringle of Stichill, 1st Bt., son of John Pringle and Margaret Scott, in 1660.3
      From 1660, her married name became Pringle.3

Sir John Hope of Craighall, 2nd Bt.1

     Sir John Hope of Craighall, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir Thomas Hope of Craighall, 1st Bt. and Elizabeth Binning.2 He married Margaret Murray, daughter of Sir Archibald Murray of Blackbarony, 1st Bt. and Margaret Maule.2 He died on 28 April 1654.2
     He held the office of Lord of Session [Scotland] in 1632.2 He was styled as Lord Craighall [Scottish Law Lord] in 1632. He succeeded to the title of 2nd Baronet Hope, of Craighall [N.S., 1628] in November 1646.3

     William Borthwick of Pilmuir was the son of Captain Henry Borthwick of Pilmuir and Mary Pringle.1 He died before 28 November 1723, without issue.1
     He succeeded to the title of 13th Lord Borthwick [S., 1452] on 27 May 1706, although he never claimed the title.1 He lived at Pitmuir, Scotland.1

     Henry Borthwick of Mayshiell, 14th Lord Borthwick was born circa 1689.2 He was the son of Captain Henry Borthwick of Pilmuir and Mary Pringle.1 He married Margaret Drummond, daughter of George Drummond, on 5 March 1770 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He died on 6 September 1772 at Newcastle-upon-Tyne, Northumberland, England, without issue.2 He was buried on 8 October 1772 at Grey Friars, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2
     He succeeded to the title of 14th Lord Borthwick [S., 1452] in 1727.1 Between 1734 and 1761 he voted for the election of Scottish Representatives.1 On 8 April 1762 the House of Lords allowed his petition to allow his title of Lord Borthwick.1
     On his death, the Lordship of Borthwck became dormant for 98 years, until 1870.2

     Margaret Drummond was the daughter of George Drummond.1 She married Henry Borthwick of Mayshiell, 14th Lord Borthwick, son of Captain Henry Borthwick of Pilmuir and Mary Pringle, on 5 March 1770 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 She died between 8 October 1810 and 23 April 1812.1
      From 5 March 1770, her married name became Borthwick.1

     Reverend Archibald Borthwick was the son of Andrew Borthwick, 2nd of Sauchnell.1 He married, secondly, Katherine Lawson, daughter of James Lawson of Cairnsmuir, on 17 January 1701.2 He died in March 1727.2
     He was a Minister at Polwarth, Scotland.1,3

     Patrick Borthwick was the son of Reverend Archibald Borthwick.1 He married Marion Scott.1 He died on 6 October 1772.1
     He was a merchant at Leith, Scotland.1 He succeeded to the title of 15th Lord Borthwick [S., 1452] on 6 September 1772, although he never claimed his title.1
