William Borthwick of Pilmuir was the son of Captain Henry Borthwick of Pilmuir and Mary Pringle.1 He died before 28 November 1723, without issue.1
William Borthwick of Pilmuir succeeded to the title of 13th Lord Borthwick [S., 1452] on 27 May 1706, although he never claimed the title.1 He lived at Pitmuir, Scotland.1

Henry Borthwick of Mayshiell, 14th Lord Borthwick was born circa 1689.2 He was the son of Captain Henry Borthwick of Pilmuir and Mary Pringle.1 He married Margaret Drummond, daughter of George Drummond, on 5 March 1770 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2 He died on 6 September 1772 at Newcastle, Northumberland, England, without issue.2 He was buried on 8 October 1772 at Grey Friars, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.2
Henry Borthwick of Mayshiell, 14th Lord Borthwick succeeded to the title of 14th Lord Borthwick [S., 1452] in 1727.1 Between 1734 and 1761 he voted for the election of Scottish Representatives.1 On 8 April 1762 the House of Lords allowed his petition to allow his title of Lord Borthwick.1
On his death, the Lordhsip of Borthwck became dormant for 98 years, until 1870.2

Margaret Drummond was born before 1755. She was the daughter of George Drummond.1 She married Henry Borthwick of Mayshiell, 14th Lord Borthwick, son of Captain Henry Borthwick of Pilmuir and Mary Pringle, on 5 March 1770 at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.1 She died between 8 October 1810 and 23 April 1812.1
