     Agnes Borthwick is the daughter of William Borthwick, 7th of Crookston and Elizabeth Hoppringle of Hoppringle.1,2 She married William Borthwick, son of William Borthwick, 6th Lord Borthwick and Grissel Scott.1

     William Borthwick, 7th of Crookston was born before 1580. He was the son of John Borthwick, 6th of Crookston and Isobel Scott.2 A contract for the marriage of William Borthwick, 7th of Crookston and Elizabeth Hoppringle of Hoppringle was signed on 3 January 1589/90.2 He died in April 1616.2
