     John Magill was born in 1675.2 He was the son of John Hawkins and Mary Johnston.1 He married Rose Colvill, daughter of Sir Robert Colvill and Rose Leslie, on 17 August 1697.2 He died on 5 September 1713.1
     John Magill was baptised with the name of John Hawkins.1 On 1700 his name was legally changed to .1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for County Down between 1703 and 1713.2
