Arthur Wills Blundell Sandys Trumbull Windsor Hill, 4th Marquess of Downshire was born on 6 August 1812. He was the son of Arthur Blundell Sandys Trumbull Hill, 3rd Marquess of Downshire and Lady Maria Windsor.1,2 He married Hon. Caroline Frances Stapleton-Cotton, daughter of Field Marshal Stapleton Stapleton-Cotton, 1st Viscount Combermere of Bhurtpore and Caroline Greville, on 23 August 1837.3 He died on 6 August 1868 at age 56.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for County Down between 1836 and 1845.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the service of the South Downshire Militia.1 He succeeded to the title of 5th Viscount Hillsborough, co.
