     Her married name became Hobart.

     Robert Sydney, 1st Earl of Leicester was born on 19 November 1563.3 He was the son of Sir Henry Sydney and Lady Mary Dudley.3 He married, firstly, Barbara Gamage, daughter of John Gamage and Wenllian verch Thomas, on 23 September 1584.4 He married, secondly, Sarah Blount, daughter of William Blount, on 25 April 1626.4 He died on 13 July 1626 at age 62.4
     He was also known as Robert Sidney.5 He was educated at Christ Church, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Glamorgan between 1584 and 1586.4 He was appointed Knight in 1586.4 He held the office of Governor of Flushing, Low Countries between 1588 and 1616.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Glamorgan in 1593.4 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Kent from 1597 to 1598.4 He was created 1st Baron Sydney of Penshurst, co. Kent [England] on 13 May 1603.3 He was created 1st Viscount L'Isle [England] on 4 May 1605.3 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1616.3 He was created 1st Earl of Leicester [England] on 2 August 1618.3

     Mary Hampden was baptised on 1 May 1630 at Great Hampden, Buckinghamshire, EnglandG.1 She was the daughter of John Hampden and Elizabeth Simeon.1 She married, firstly, Colonel Robert Hammond before 1654.1 She married, secondly, Sir John Hobart, 3rd Bt., son of Sir Miles Hobart and Frances Peyton, in June 1656 at St. Gile's-in-the-Fields Church, London, EnglandG.1 She died before 2 May 1689.2 Her will (dated 7 January 1686) was proven (by probate) on 2 May 1689.1
     From before 1654, her married name became Hammond.1 From June 1656, her married name became Hobart.1
