     Nicholas John Cunliffe-Lister, 3rd Earl of Swinton was born on 4 September 1939.1 He is the son of Major Hon. John Yarburgh Cunliffe-Lister and Anne Irvine Medlicott.1 He married, firstly, Hon. Elizabeth Susan Whitelaw, daughter of Sir William Stephen Ian Whitelaw, 1st and last Viscount Whitelaw and Cecilia Doriel Sprot, on 19 February 1966 at Guard's Chapel, Wellington Barracks, London, England.1 He and Hon. Elizabeth Susan Whitelaw were divorced.3 He married, secondly, Pamela June Wood, daughter of Thomas Wood and Doreen (?), circa July 1996 at Bridlington Register Office, Bridlington, Yorkshire, England.4
     Nicholas John Cunliffe-Lister, 3rd Earl of Swinton gained the title of 3rd Earl of Swinton.
