John Yarburgh Cunliffe-Lister was born on 10 June 1913.1 He was the son of Philip Cunliffe-Lister, 1st Earl of Swinton and Mary Constance Boynton.2 He married Anne Irvine Medlicott, daughter of Canon Robert Sumner Medlicott and Ellen Douglas Irvine, on 28 May 1936 at St. Peter's Church, Easton Square, London, England.3 He died on 14 April 1943 at age 29, from wounds received in action.1
