     Sir John Potter was born on 10 April 1815 at Polefield, Prestwich, Lancashire, England.1 He was the son of Sir Thomas Potter and Esther Bayley.1 He died on 25 October 1858 at age 43 at Beech House, Eccles, Lancashire, England.1 He was buried at Ardwick Cemetery, Manchester, Lancashire, England.1
     Sir John Potter held the office of Mayor of Manchester between 1848 and 1851.1 He was invested as a Knight on 10 October 1851.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Manchester between 1857 and 1858.1

John Yarburgh Cunliffe-Lister was born on 10 June 1913.1 He was the son of Philip Cunliffe-Lister, 1st Earl of Swinton and Mary Constance Boynton.2 He married Anne Irvine Medlicott, daughter of Canon Robert Sumner Medlicott and Ellen Douglas Irvine, on 28 May 1936 at St. Peter's Church, Easton Square, London, England.3 He died on 14 April 1943 at age 29, from wounds received in action.1
