     Brig.-Gen. Alexander Grant, 2nd of Grant was born in 1672.1 He was the son of Ludovic Grant, 8th of Freuchie and 1st of Grant and Janet Brodie.1,3 He married, secondly, Anne Smith.1 He married Elizabeth Stuart, daughter of James Stuart, Lord Doune and Catherine Tollemache, on 3 December 1698.4 He died on 14 August 1719, without surviving issue.4
     He was Brig-Gen, Ld-Lt Inverness-shire and Banffshire, Member of Parliament (M.P.) Inverness-shire and in first five GB Parls in 1702.4 He was married 2nd Anne (Maid of Honour to QUEEN ANNE on 7 April 1709.4 On 10 June 1717 died ), daughter of John Smith, Speaker H of C (see STRICKLAND-CONSTABLE, Bt).4

     unknown son Trelawny was the son of Edward Trelawny and Amoretta Crawford.1 He died circa November 1741 at Spanish Town, Jamaica, in infancy.1 He was buried in November 1741 at St. Catherine Church, Spanish Town, Jamaica.1

     Anne Colquhoun was born in 1685.1 She was the daughter of Sir Humphrey Colquhoun of Luss, 5th Bt. and Margaret Houstoun.2 She married Sir James Grant of Grant, 6th Bt., son of Ludovic Grant, 8th of Freuchie and 1st of Grant and Janet Brodie, on 29 January 1702.2 She died on 25 June 1724.1
      With two other sons and eight daughters.2 From 29 January 1702, her married name became Grant.3 She lived at Luss, Argyllshire, Scotland.3
