     Richard Ryder, Baron Ryder of Wensum was born on 4 February 1949.2 He is the son of Richard Stephen Ryder and Margaret MacKenzie.3,4 He married Caroline Stephens, daughter of Sir David Stephens and Mary Clemency Gore-Browne, in 1981.2

     Alan John Sainsbury, Baron Sainsbury was born on 13 August 1902.2 He was the son of John Benjamin Sainsbury and Mabel Miriam van den Bergh.2,3 He married, firstly, Doreen Davan Adams, daughter of Leonard Adams, on 31 October 1925.2 He and Doreen Davan Adams were divorced in 1939.3 He married, secondly, Anne Elizabeth Lewry, daughter of Paul Lewry, on 12 September 1944.2 He died on 21 October 1998 at age 96.1
     He was educated at Haileybury College, Haileybury, Surrey, England.2 He was with J. Sainsbury Ltd in 1921.2 He was chairman of J. Sainsbury Ltd between 1956 and 1967.2 He was created Baron Sainsbury, of Drury Lane in the Borough of Holborn in the County of London [U.K. Life Peer] on 3 May 1962.1 He was chairman of the Committee for Enquiry in the relationship Between the Pharmaceutical Industry and NHS between 1965 and 1968.2 He was joint president of J.
