     Alan John Sainsbury, Baron Sainsbury was born on 13 August 1902.2 He was the son of John Benjamin Sainsbury and Mabel Miriam van den Bergh.2,3 He married Doreen Davan Adams in 1925. He and Doreen Davan Adams were divorced in 1939.3 He died on 21 October 1998 at age 96.1
