He died on 20 March 1930 at age 92.1
     He was Colonel RE, one of the Boundary Commrs for Scotland under Local Government , engr to Sec for Scotland for piers and harbours, W Highlands and Islands 1890–92, Honour Cmdt Clyde Div Engr Vol Submarine Miners 1901 Act 1889.3 He was Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)
