     Brig.-Gen. Philip Howell was the son of Lt.-Col. Horace Howell.2 He married Rosalind Upcher Buxton, daughter of Henry Edmund Buxton and Mary Rosalind Upcher, on 13 September 1911.1 He died on 7 October 1916, killed in action.1
     Brig.-Gen. Philip Howell was invested as a Companion, Order of St. Michael and St. George (C.M.G.).1 He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Brigadier-General in the service of the 4th Hussars.1

     Charles Louis Buxton was born on 1 February 1846.1 He was the son of Sir Edward North Buxton, 2nd Bt. and Catherine Gurney.2 He married Maria Lee-Warner, daughter of Reverend Henry James Lee-Warner, on 3 July 1873.1 He died on 23 April 1906 at age 60.1
     Charles Louis Buxton graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the service of the Norfolk Artillery Militia.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Norfolk.1
