     Maria Louisa Tufnell was the daughter of John Jolliffe Tufnell and Eleanor Margaret Murray.2 She married Hon. Edward Gerald Strutt, son of John James Strutt, 2nd Baron Rayleigh of Terling Place and Clara Elizabeth La Touche Vicars, on 29 October 1878.1 She died on 10 May 1938.1
     Her married name became Strutt.

     He was educated at Stowe School, Buckingham, Buckinghamshire, England.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1935 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)1 He gained the rank of Major in the 104th Essex Yeomanry Field Brigade, Royal Artillery (TA.)1 He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches and was wounded.1
