     Admiral Talavera Vernon Anson was commissioned on 16 June 1824, in the service of the Royal Navy.¹ He gained the rank of Commander on 30 June 1838.¹ He gained the rank of Captain on 8 June 1841.¹ He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral on 29 July 1861.¹ He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral on 6 April 1866.¹ He retired from the military on 20 October 1872, with the rank of Admiral.¹

     Lawrencina Potter was born on 31 August 1845 at Gayton Hall, Herefordshire, England.¹ She was the daughter of Richard Potter and Lawrencina Heyworth.¹ She married Robert Durning Holt, son of George Holt and Emma Durning, on 19 June 1867.¹ She died on 28 May 1906 at age 60 at Toxteh Park, Lancashire, England.¹
     From 19 June 1867, her married name became Holt.¹

     Catharine Potter was born in 1847 at Herefordshire, England.² She was the daughter of Richard Potter and Lawrencina Heyworth.^1,2 She married Leonard Henry Courtney, 1st and last Baron Courtney of Penwith, son of John Sampson Courtney and Sarah Mortimer, on 15 March 1883.¹ She died in 1929.²
     From 15 March 1883, her married name became Courtney.^2,1 As a result of her marriage, Catharine Potter was styled as Baroness Courtney of Penwith on 14 July 1906.
