     James Chisholm Gooden-Chisholm was born on 29 September 1816.1 He is the son of James Gooden and Mary Chisholm.2 He married Anne Elizabeth Lambert, daughter of John Lambert, in 1851.1
     James Chisholm Gooden-Chisholm was baptised with the name of James Chisholm Gooden. He was educated at University College London, London, England.1 He held the position of Chief of the Name and Arms of Chisholm on 23 May 1887.1 He was also known as James Chisholm Gooden-Chisholm as of 23 May 1887.1 He was recognised by the Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Office on 23 May 1887.1
