     Roderick Chisholm of Chisholm was born on 30 January 1864.1 He was the son of James Chisholm Gooden-Chisholm and Anne Elizabeth Lambert.2 He married Margaret Chisholm Fraser, daughter of Colonel William Fraser, 13th of Cubokie and Guisachan, on 12 July 1893.1 He died on 14 June 1943 at age 79.1
     Roderick Chisholm of Chisholm was baptised with the name of Roderick Gooden-Chisholm.1 He was educated at Brighton College, Brighton, Sussex, England.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Seaforth Highlanders.1 On 29 March 1938 his name was legally changed to Roderick Chisholm of Chisholm.1 He was recognised by the Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Office on 29 March 1938.1
