     Hon. James Herbert was born in 1623.2 He was the son of Philip Herbert, 4th Earl of Pembroke and Lady Susan de Vere.1,3 He married Lady Catherine Osborne, daughter of Thomas Osborne, 1st Duke of Leeds and Lady Bridget Bertie. He married Jane Spiller, daughter of Sir Robert Spiller.2 He died in April 1677.3
     He matriculated at Jesus College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, on 15 June 1638.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Wiltshire between May 1646 and December 1648.3 He graduated from Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England, on 12 April 1648 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Queenborough between 1659 and April 1677.3 He lived at Kingsey, Buckinghamshire, EnglandG.1

     Elizabeth Gould was born circa 1670.2 She was the daughter of Sir Thomas Gould and Anne (?)3,4 She married, firstly, Robert Wymondsell, son of Sir Dawes Wymondsell and Jane Cooke, in October 1684.3 She married, secondly, Sir Walter Clarges, 1st Bt., son of Sir Thomas Clarges and Mary Procter, on 15 December 1690.3,2 She died on 20 April 1728 at Westminster, London, England.3,2 Her will was proven (by probate) in 1736.3
     From October 1684, her married name became Wymondsell.3 From 15 December 1690, her married name became Clarges.3

Sir Thomas Clarges, 2nd Bt.1

     Sir Thomas Clarges, 2nd Bt. was born on 25 July 1688.1 He was the son of Sir Walter Clarges, 1st Bt. and Jane Herbert.1 He was baptised on 31 July 1688 at St. James' Church, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1 He married Hon. Barbara Berkeley, daughter of John Berkeley, 4th Viscount Fitzhardinge of Berehaven and Barbara Villiers, in May 1706.1,2 He died on 19 February 1759 at age 70 at Westminster, London, England.1,2
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Clarges, of St. Martin's in the Fields, co. Middlesex [E., 1674] in March 1705/6.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Lostwithiel between 1713 and 1715.1
