Sir John Elphinstone of Glack, 11th Bt. was born on 12 August 1924.1 He is the son of Thomas George Elphinstone and Gladys Mary Congdon.2 He married Margaret Doreen Tasker, daughter of Edric Tasker, on 23 May 1953.1
Sir John Elphinstone of Glack, 11th Bt. was educated at Repton School, Repton, Derbyshire, England.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1942 in the service of the Royal Marines.1 He was Lieutenant RM , FRICS, chartered surveyor, land agent with ICI 1956–83, consultant Gandy & Son Northwich 1983–88, past Pres Cheshire Ag Valuers' Assoc, past Chm Land Agency & Ag Div Lancs, Cheshire & Isle of Man branch RICS, memb Lancashire River in 1942.3 He graduated from Emmanuel College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1950 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.).1 He lived Professional Associate, Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (A.R.I.C.S.).1 He was a land agent with ICI between 1956 and 1983.1 He succeeded to the title of 11th Baronet Elphinstone, of Logie Elphinstone, co. Aberdeen and Nova Scotia [N.S., 1701] on 16 December 1970.1 He was a consultant with Gandy & Son, Land Agents and Chartered Surveyors between 1983 and 1988 at Northwich, Cheshire, England.1 He lived in 2003 at Pilgrims, Churchfields, Sandiway, Cheshire CW8 2JS.3
