     James Grierson was born on 20 June 1786 at Scotland.2 He was the son of James Grierson and Helen Morrison.1 He married Sophia Mary Anne Grierson, daughter of John Grierson and Mary Wycherley, on 8 March 1825 at St. Mary's Church, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.2 He died on 14 March 1834 at age 47 at Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.3,2 He was buried on 15 March 1834 at St. Catherine's Yard, Dublin, County Dublin, Ireland.2

     Colonel James Grierson was born on 6 January 1741.3 He was the son of Thomas Grierson of Larbreck and Elizabeth Ewart.1,3 He married Katherine McBurnie on 14 May 1767 at St. Paul's Parish, Augusta, Georgia, U.S.A..3 He died on 7 June 1781 at age 40 at Augusta, Georgia, U.S.A., killed by rebels, two days after he had surrendered.1,3
     Colonel James Grierson fought in the American War of Independence.3
