     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.¹ He was educated at Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Rutland in 1907.¹ He lived at Lyndon Hall, Oakham, Rutland, England.¹

     Gertrude Catherine Conant was born on 30 September 1845.¹ She was the daughter of Edward Nathaniel Conant and Gertrude Mary Proby.² She died on 28 August 1930 at age 84, unmarried.¹

     Frances Ann Conant was born on 7 November 1846.¹ She was the daughter of Edward Nathaniel Conant and Gertrude Mary Proby.² She married Byam Alartin Davies, son of General Francis John Davies, on 24 September 1874.¹ She died on 11 July 1910 at age 63.¹
      From 24 September 1874, her married name became Davies.
