Lt.-Col. Thomas Tryon was born in 1830.2 He was the son of Thomas Tryon and Anne Trollope.2 He married Alice Dashwood, daughter of Reverend Samuel Vere Dashwood and Edith Elizabeth Hawkshaw, on 15 July 1873.3 He died on 19 December 1888.2

(Conservative) for Chesterfield between 1931 and 1935.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Rutland in 1932.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Bewdley between 1937 and 1950.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Rutland in 1946.1 He held the office of Opposition Whip of the House of Commons between 1946 and 1951.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Conservative) for Rutland and Stamford between 1950 and 1959.1 He held the office of Comptroller of the Household between 1951 and 1954.1 He was invested as a Commander, Royal Victorian Order (C.V.O.) in 1953.1 He was created 1st Baronet Conant, of Lyndon, co. Leicester [U.K.] on 30 June 1954.1 He lived at Lyndon Hall, Oakham, Rutland, England.1

Major Rupert Thomas Conant was born on 3 December 1901.1 He was the son of Ernest William Proby Conant and Eva Mildred Tryon.2 He married Rachel Faith Grant-Thorold, daughter of Major Harry Grant-Thorold, on 10 September 1938.1 He died in May 1940 at age 38 at Dunkirk, France, killed in action.1
