     Mary Nisbet was the daughter of William Hamilton Nisbet.1 She married, secondly, Robert Ferguson of Raith.1 She married, firstly, General Thomas Bruce, 11th Earl of Kincardine, son of Charles Bruce, 9th Earl of Kincardine and Martha Whyte, on 11 March 1799.1 She and General Thomas Bruce, 11th Earl of Kincardine were divorced in 1808.1 She died on 9 July 1855.
     Her married name became Ferguson.1 As a result of her marriage, Mary Nisbet was styled as Countess of Elgin and Kincardine on 11 March 1799. From 11 March 1799, her married name became Bruce.
