     Anne Mackenzie was born circa 1629.2 She was the daughter of Sir John Mackenzie of Tarbat, 1st Bt. and Margaret Erskine.1 She married Hugh Fraser, 8th Lord (Fraser of) Lovat, son of Hugh Fraser, Master of Lovat and Lady Anne Leslie, in July 1659 at Tarbat, ScotlandG.1 She died on 10 November 1670.1
     From July 1659, her married name became Fraser.1

     Sir John Mackenzie of Tarbat, 1st Bt. was the son of Sir Roderick Mackenzie of Castle Leod and Margaret Macleod.2,3 He married Margaret Erskine, daughter of Sir George Erskine of Innerteil, circa 25 July 1629.3 He died on 10 September 1654.4
     He was created 1st Baronet Mackenzie, of Tarbat, co. Ross [Nova Scotia] on 21 May 1628, with special remainder to his heirs male whatsoever.3

     Hugh Fraser, Master of Lovat was born in 1624.2,3 He was the son of Hugh Fraser, 7th Lord (Fraser of) Lovat and Isabel Wemyss.2,1 He married Lady Anne Leslie, daughter of Alexander Leslie, 1st Earl of Leven and Agnes Renton, on 30 April 1642 at Holyrood House Chapel, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1,3 He died in April 1643.3
     He was styled as Master of Lovat between 1640 and 1643.1

     Anne Melville was the daughter of George Melville, 1st Earl of Melville.
     From before 30 June 1642, her married name became Fraser.1

     George Melville, 1st Earl of Melville was born in 1636.1 He was the son of John Melville, 3rd Lord Melville of Monymaill and Anne Erskine.1 He married Catharine Leslie, daughter of Alexander Leslie, Lord Balgonie and Lady Margaret Leslie, on 18 January 1655.1 He died on 20 May 1707.1
     He was invloved in the Duke of Monmouth's rebellion, and escaped to Holland.1 In 1685 his estates were forfeited by attainder.1 In 1688 he returned to England with King William III, and was reinstated.1 He held the office of Secretary of State [Scotland] from 1689 to 1690.1 He held the office of High Commissioner to the Scottish Parliament in 1690.1 He succeeded as the 4th Lord Melville of Monymaill [S., 1616] on 8 April 1690.1 He was created 1st Viscount of Kirkcaldy [Scotland] on 8 April 1690.1 He succeeded as the 1st Lord Raith, Monymaill and Balwearie [Scotland] on 8 April 1690.1 He was created 1st Earl of Melville [Scotland] on 8 April 1690.1 He held the office of Privy Seal [Scotland] between 1691 and 1696.1 He held the office of President of the Council [Scotland] between 1696 and 1702.1 He was Commissioner for executing the office of Lord High Admiral [Scotland] in 1697.1
