     Sir Alexander Stewart, 4th Earl of Galloway was born on 8 January 1669/70.1 He was the son of Sir Alexander Stewart, 3rd Earl of Galloway and Lady Mary Douglas.1 He died on 26 September 1690 at age 20.1
     Sir Alexander Stewart, 4th Earl of Galloway succeeded to the title of 3rd Baronet Stewart, of Corsewell [N.S., 1627] in September 1690.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Lord Garlies [S., 1607] in September 1690.1 He succeeded to the title of 4th Earl of Galloway [S., 1623] in September 1690.1
