Lt.-Col. Hon. Charles Smyth Vereker was born on 21 April 1818.1 He was the son of Charles Vereker, 2nd Viscount Gort and Elizabeth Palliser.2 He married Kate Fannin, daughter of Robert Fannin, on 10 May 1842.1 He died on 12 May 1885 at age 67, without issue.1
