     Esme Wallace was born circa 1884.1 She was the daughter of James Stewart Wallace and Lucy Sutherland.2,1 She married Hardinge Goulburn Giffard, 2nd Earl of Halsbury, son of Hardinge Stanley Giffard, 1st Earl of Halsbury and Wilhelmina Woodfall, on 7 August 1907.1 She died on 19 September 1973.1
     From 7 August 1907, her married name became Giffard. As a result of her marriage, Esme Wallace was styled as Countess of Halsbury on 11 December 1921.
