     John Makgill of Kemback was baptised on 16 November 1790.2 He was the son of George Makgill and Agnes Law.2 He married Eliza Dalgleish, daughter of William Dalgleish, on 13 November 1811.2 He died on 3 May 1817 at age 26.2
     He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Makgill [N.S., 1627] on 26 August 1797, de jure.2 He succeeded as the 8th Viscount of Oxfuird [S., 1651] on 26 August 1797, de jure.2 He succeeded as the 8th Lord Makgill of Cousland [S., 1651] on 26 August 1797, de jure.2

     Jane Makgill was the daughter of John Makgill of Kemback and Eliza Dalgleish.2 She married Robert Haldane, son of James Alexander Haldane and Mary Joass, on 20 July 1841.1 She died on 24 February 1851.1
     From 20 July 1841, her married name became Haldane.1

     James Alexander Haldane was born on 11 December 1844.1 He was the son of Robert Haldane and Jane Makgill.2 He married Sarah Jane Reid on 22 June 1868.1 He died on 23 August 1901 at age 56.1
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He was recognised by Lord Lyon King of Arms, and matriculated his arms at the Lyons Court in 1879.1 He was a practising Writer to the Signet (W.S.)1

     Robert John Alwyn Haldane was born on 12 May 1871.1 He was the son of James Alexander Haldane and Sarah Jane Reid.2 He died on 6 September 1898 at age 27 at CyprusG, killed on duty during a revolt.1
     He was educated at Loretto School, Edinburgh, Midlothian, ScotlandG.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, EnglandG.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Highland Light Infantry.1
