Major Rupert Charles Frederick Gerard was born on 6 October 1916.1 He was the son of Colonel Charles Robert Tolver Michael Gerard and Aimée Gwendolyn Clarke.2 He married Huguette Reiss-Brian, daughter of Hugo Reiss, on 29 March 1948.1 He and Huguette Reiss-Brian were divorced in 1969.1 He died on 1 December 1978 at age 62.1
