Colonel Henry Hussey Vivian, 1st Baron Swansea of Singleton1

     Colonel Henry Hussey Vivian, 1st Baron Swansea of Singleton was born on 6 July 1821.1 He was the son of John Henry Vivian and Sarah Jones.2 He married, firstly, Jessie Dalrynple Goddard, daughter of Ambrose Goddard and Jessy Catherine Lethbridge, on 15 April 1847.1 He married, secondly, Flora Caroline Elizabeth Cholmeley, daughter of Sir Montague John Cholmeley, 2nd Bt. and Lady Georgiana Beauclerk, on 14 July 1853.2 He married, thirdly, Averil Beaumont, daughter of Captain Richard Beaumont and Hon. Susan Hussey Bosville Macdonald, on 10 November 1870.3 He died on 28 November 1894 at age 73.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Truro between 1852 and 1857.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Glamorgan between 1857 and 1885.1 He gained the rank of Colonel in the 4th Glamorgan RV.1 He was created 1st Baronet Swansea [U.K.] on 13 May 1882.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Swansea between 1885 and 1893.1 He was created 1st Baron Swansea of Singleton, co. Glamorgan [U.K.] on 9 June 1893.1

She was the daughter of Sir Montague John Cholmeley, 2nd Bt. and Lady Georgiana Beauclerk.1 She married Colonel Henry Hussey Vivian, 1st Baron Swansea of Singleton, son of John Henry Vivian and Sarah Jones, on 14 July 1853.1 She died on 25 January 1868 at age 35.1
     Her married name became Vivian.

     Odo Richard Vivian, 3rd Baron Swansea of Singleton was born on 22 April 1875.1 He was the son of Colonel Henry Hussey Vivian, 1st Baron Swansea of Singleton and Averil Beaumont.1 He married Hon. Winifred Hamilton, daughter of Ion Trant Hamilton, 1st Baron Holmpatrick and Lady Victoria Alexandrina Wellesley, on 25 October 1906.1 He died on 16 November 1934 at age 59.1
     He gained the rank of Colonel between 1901 and 1919 in the 6th Battalion, Welch Regiment and Glamorgan Yeomanry.1 He was awarded the Territorial Decoration (T.D.) in 1916.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Glamorgan.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Glamorgan.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Swansea [U.K., 1882] on 17 July 1922.1 He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Swansea of Singleton, co.      Her married name became Vivian. After her marriage, Hon. Winifred Hamilton was styled as Baroness Swansea of Singleton on 17 July 1922.
