Colonel Sir Henry Hussey Vivian, 1st Baron Swansea was born on 6 July 1821. He was the son of Major John Henry Vivian and Sarah Jones. He married, firstly, Jessie Dalrynple Goddard, daughter of Ambrose Goddard, on 15 April 1847. He married, secondly, Flora Caroline Elizabeth Cholmeley, daughter of Sir Montague John Cholmeley, 2nd Bt. and Lady Georgiana Beauclerk, on 14 July 1853.1 He married, thirdly, Averil Beaumont, daughter of Captain Richard Beaumont and Hon. Susan Hussey Bosville Macdonald, on 10 November 1870.2 He died on 28 November 1894 at age 73.
