Colonel Henry Hussey Vivian, 1st Baron Swansea was born on 6 July 1821.1 He was the son of John Henry Vivian and Sarah Jones. He married Jessie Dalrynple Goddard, daughter of Ambrose Goddard, on 15 April 1847.1 He married, secondly, Flora Caroline Elizabeth Cholmeley, daughter of Sir Montague John Cholmeley, 2nd Bt. and Lady Georgiana Beauclerk, on 14 July 1853.2 He married, thirdly, Averil Beaumont, daughter of Captain Richard Beaumont and Hon. Susan Hussey Bosville Macdonald, on 10 November 1870.3 He died on 28 November 1894 at age 73.
He was Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Lib): –57, Glamorgan 1857–85, Swansea 1885–93 Truro 1852.1 He was County Glamorgan (both UK).1 He was Colonel 4th Glamorgan RV.1 He was also known as Baron 1st Swansea.4 He gained the title of 1st Baron Swansea. On 13 May 1882 so created and 9 June 1893 respectively.1
He was Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Lib): –57, Glamorgan 1857–85, Swansea 1885–93 Truro 1852.1 He was County Glamorgan (both UK).1 He was Colonel 4th Glamorgan RV.1 He was also known as Baron 1st Swansea.4 He gained the title of 1st Baron Swansea.
