     Mary Hay was the daughter of Sir John Hay of Smithfield, 5th Bt.2 She married George Forbes, son of Sir William Forbes of Monymusk, 6th Bt. and Elizabeth Hay, on 8 February 1819.1 She died on 3 March 1877.1
      From 8 February 1819, her married name became Forbes.
