     Rice Richard Clayton was born on 15 November 1797.1 He was the son of Sir William Clayton, 4th Bt. and Mary East.2 He married Maria Amelia Nugent, daughter of Field Marshal Sir George Nugent, 1st Bt. and Maria Skinner, on 31 July 1832.3 He was also reported to have been married on 3 July 1832.1 He died on 4 May 1879 at age 81.1
     Rice Richard Clayton graduated with a Master of Arts (M.A.).1 He held the office of High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire in 1838.1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Buckinghamshire.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Buckinghamshire.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Aylesbury between 1841 and 1847.1 He lived at Hedgerley Park, Buckinghamshire, England.1
