     Charles Henry Pearson Gifford was the son of T. J. Carlyle Gifford. He married Margaret Laetitia Lyell, daughter of Major Hon. Charles Henry Lyell and Rosalind Margaret Watney, on 6 June 1944. He died in 1993.

     T. J. Carlyle Gifford lived at Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.

     Rosalind Margaret Watney was the daughter of Vernon James Watney.² She married Major Hon. Charles Henry Lyell, son of Leonard Lyell, 1st Baron Lyell and Mary Stirling, on 18 May 1911.¹ She died on 22 May 1957.

     Leonard Lyell, 1st Baron Lyell was born on 21 October 1850.¹ He was the son of Henry Lyell and Katherine Murray Horner.² He married Mary Stirling, daughter of Reverend John Mayne Stirling and Rosetta Cheyne, on 4 July 1874.¹ He died on 18 September 1926 at age 75.
     He was County Forfar.¹ He lived Kinnordy.¹ He graduated with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) (London).¹ He was Justice of the Peace (J.P.) and Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.).¹ He was also known as 1st Baronet [U.K. Life Peer].¹ He gained the title of 1st Baron Lyell. He was Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Lib) Orkney and Shetland in 1885.¹ On 24 January 1894 so created and 4 July 1914 respectively (both UK).¹

     Mary Stirling was the daughter of Reverend John Mayne Stirling and Rosetta Cheyne. She married Leonard Lyell, 1st Baron Lyell, son of Henry Lyell and Katherine Murray Horner, on 4 July 1874.¹ She died on 24 February 1929.¹
      Her married name became Lyell.

     Rosetta Cheyne was the daughter of Captain George Cheyne and Jane Hughes.

     Captain George Cheyne gained the rank of Captain in the service of the Royal Navy.

     Major Hon. Michael Victor Brodrick was born on 25 February 1920. He was the son of William St. John Freemantle Brodrick, 1st Earl of Middleton and Madeline Cecilia Carlyle Stanley. He died in September 1943 at age 23 at Italy, killed in action.
     He fought in the Second World War.

     Osma Mary Dorothy Stanley was born in 1877.¹ She was the daughter of Colonel Hon. John Constantine Stanley and Susan Mary Elizabeth Stewart-Mackenzie. She married Augustus Henry Eden Allhusen on 21 July 1896.¹ She died on 6 October 1965.¹
      Her married name became Allhusen.
