     Mary Dawnay was born on 15 April 1936.1 She is the daughter of Lt.-Col. Ronald Dawnay and Lady Elizabeth Katherine Grey.1 She married Sir John Richard Walter Reginald Carew Pole, 13th Bt., son of Sir John Gawen Carew Pole, 12th Bt. and Cynthia Mary Burns, in 1974.2
     She was Lady-in-Waiting to HRH Princess Anne in April 1970.1 She was married 2nd •Mary, Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) (1983), daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel Ronald Dawnay (see DOWNE, V) in 1974.2 From 1974, her married name became Carew Pole.2 She was invested as a Lieutenant, Royal Victorian Order (L.V.O.) in 1983.1 She held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.).1

     W/Cdr. Michael Dawnay was born on 24 October 1912.1 He was the son of Major Hon. Hugh Dawnay and Lady Susan de la Poer Beresford.1 He married Julian Mary Brassey, daughter of Major Henry Leonard Campbell Brassey, 1st Baron Brassey of Apethorpe, on 28 March 1938.1 He died on 19 March 1946 at age 33.1
     He gained the rank of Wing Commander in the service of the Royal Air Force.1 He fought in the Second World War.1

     She was adopted by Major Henry Leonard Campbell Brassey, 1st Baron Brassey of Apethorpe.1 Her married name became Dawnay.

     Patrick Julian Dawnay was born on 27 March 1939.1 He is the son of W/Cdr. Michael Dawnay and Julian Mary Brassey.1 He married Julie Katharine Olivier, daughter of Lt.-Col. William Herbert Olivier and Katharine Mary Jones, on 21 May 1966.1
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He lived in 2003 at Château Ragny, Tournay sur Odon, France.1
